3 Neutral Fall Mantels

Three Fall mantels done in neutral tones with natural elements.

The center chimney in our 1740 saltbox farmhouse has three fireplaces (and I'm pretty certain there was a fourth fireplace on the second floor that has been sealed over - might just pull a Nicole Curtis and open that thing up someday!)

Until then I have three mantels to decorate - life is a double edge sword sometimes.

I kept it simple in the master bedroom:

And old window spray painted with Krylon looking glass to make a mirror.
I added the industrial style candle holders made from black steel plumbing parts and a birch log slice.
And finally on the window I hung the glittered acorn wreath:

The sconces were here when we moved in as well as the mounted fireplace tools.  You can see I did start to strip a bit of the molding and bricks in the lower left corner, someone painted the bricks red? and I'm itching to get them back to their natural 'brick' state.

In the living room I used wood, kraft paper, neutral ribbon, natural elements and a bit of silver:
(Nevermind the white paint test on the right side, I'm ready to paint this room.)

The plastic gourds are fast to make:

The look of white gourds is much easier on the eye than fake shades of orange:

The living room is connected to the dining room through the doorway on the right:

And in the dining room I went really sparse with a simple giant cross stitch wall art and a few more white gourds and mini pumpkins:

That rounds out the mantels in our home.
Ready for Fall.
