DIY Scrap Wood Projects: Home Decor

Scrap wood projects: home decor

Continuing the scrap wood projects trend from last week I have one final round up of home decor and accessories that can be made using wood scraps.

Using all 1x4 pine boards you can make this giant wood planked wall quilt.  The longest piece is about 19" so start collecting and follow my tutorial here to make this beauty.

It doesn't get any easier than one dowel and a 2x4 scrap - put them together you have a ribbon organizer!  Crafty friends you definitely need this wood scrap project, see the details here.

This little mason jar carrier makes a great vase for flowers or fill it with art supplies, it's totally portable too!  Click here to see how to make this wood scrap carrier with copper handle.

Multiple short wood scraps all lined up together make up this fun wood planked sign.  The letters are handpainted and I'll show you an easy technique that doesn't involve and fancy machines, see how here.

Wood scraps from a fallen tree were used to frame out this circular mirror.  See how I made this mirror here.

I made my business cards from wood scraps too!  These little gems are not exactly home decor but this project could translate into a gift tag or other painted tag idea.  The process is fairly simple, see how I made the business cards here.

Another wood scrap project that only requires two pieces is this lollipop stand.  You could also use this for cake pops or any other candy on a stick.  See how to make this easy decor kids and adults will love.

Make this napkin holder from wood scraps and you have some pretty and functional tabletop decor that would also make a great gift.  Click here for all the details on the napkin holder.

Chop up a 2x2 into square blocks and you can make these cupcake placecards.  I made these for my daughter's build-it birthday party but they could easily be used for any party.  See how to make the cupcake placecards here.

And don't forget to check out all the other wood scrap projects.
