"G" is for Giant Wishbone

Diy giant gold wishbone

The wishbone trend is still going strong so why not make a giant wishbone this Fall?

Hard to tell the scale here but these wishbones measure 15" tall and are available in a variety of colors for $98.

The inspiration wishbones are beautiful with all their curves in keeping with what a true wishbone looks like, unlike my diy version which is flat.

Flat but fun and golden too!
My wishbone measures about 20"h x 14"w.

How to make a giant wishbone:

Supplies:

- 1/2" mdf
- pencil & ruler
- jig saw
- palm sander
- paint & primer

Step 1: Sketch the wishbone directly onto 1/2" mdf.  I used a smaller sketch, made a graph and transferred the design to the larger size.  Try free clip art as a starting point.

Step 2: Cut out the wishbone using a jigsaw then sand the edges smooth.

Step 3: Prime, sand and paint.

I don't know if anyone else has told you yet, but the wishbone needs to have the opening at the top otherwise all the luck falls out. ;-)
