Kids Christmas Table

A diy kids christmas table.

It's Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tablescapes hosted by my buildy friend Jen Woodhouse at House of Wood and I'm so honored to take part in sharing my kids Christmas table.

You definitely want to check out all of the previous Christmas Tablescapes because each one is so different and completely unique.

These bloggers are the real deal, building, painting and diying their way to personalized tables that are true reflections of themselves:

Today my table is for the kids because frankly Christmas is all about the kids.

The placecards are 4x4 scrap wood cut into 1 1/2" chunks.  I drilled a small hole in the center and stuck a piece of evergreen down into the hole.  Print out names onto cardstock and tie with twine and now each kid has their own tree.

The napkins are white cotton cut into 18" squares sewn with a rolled hem then I painted the stars in the center.

Using brown kraft paper as placemats each kid now has a place to draw and scribble using the markers which make a pretty centerpiece.

Moving up I made a wood block hanging centerpiece out of 2x2 scrap wood.  It's supposed to resemble an upsidedown tree - sort of - or a chandelier?  I wanted something up off the table with color and this little gem works brilliantly plus I used all scrap wood and paint I had on hand.  See the tutorial here.

The blocks are hung using clear monofilament from a 1/4" plywood circle secured to the ceiling.

The kids love having a space to call their own that's decorated just for them, it's simple and tailored plus it keeps them occupied so the adults can enjoy their meal too!

Hope you've enjoy my kids Christmas tablescape.  Thank you to Jen at House of Wood for including me and be sure to stop back tomorrow for the last and final 12 Days of Christmas Tablescapes where Ana White will be sharing her table.  Can't wait to see what she's been up to!
