Readers I need your votes again to make it to the next round please :).

The theme this week: Paint
There are 9 beautiful paint projects to choose from, vote for your favorite of course!

In order to level the playing field I'm not allowed to tell you which project is mine, simply vote for your favorite and I'll cross my fingers that you picked mine :).

Voting will be open until Tuesday at midnight so spread the word, send this link to all your friends because only the top 6 projects will advance to the next round and I would love to continue.

On Wednesday the top 3 projects based on votes will be announced and then I will share with you exactly which project is mine (if you haven't already guessed).

Make your own tiki torch stands that are portable, involve no heavy bag of cement mix and have a very slim, unobtrusive profile.

The bamboo pole of the tiki torch slides right over the wood dowel support:

"C" is for Creating with the Stars

Somebody pinch me!!!!

Never in a bazillion years did I think I'd be selected as one of the 12 contestants for this year's Creating with the Stars Contest.

But it's true!!!!  Let me just say it - I'm a contestant in Creating with the Stars.

No pressure.

And the icing on the cake - I'm paired with one of the most fabulously creative bloggers, Beckie from Infarrantly Creative (and Knock Off Decor and Roadkill Rescue, yes she has 3 blogs)!

To all my loyal readers, fans and friends:

You know I'm a project post kind of blogger, typically I build, paint and sew and share the project with the tutorial here on my blog.  I want to thank you for your constant companionship, comments, social media love and sharing over these past 3 1/2 years, it's what keeps me going.  The time has come for me to ask for your support now more than ever as I dive into this contest with Beckie by my side.

Please be sure to stop back next Monday, March 24 and vote for your favorite Round 1 project (theme: Knock Off).  Beckie and I are pretty familiar with knock offs :) so I'm thinking we will most definitely have a project worthy of your vote.

"B" is for Boy's Bedroom Makeover

A boy's bedroom makeover.

A complete boy's bedroom makeover featuring all DIY Ana White furniture builds.

Since moving in 10 months ago my son's bedroom has been a mess:

We started with dated feminine wallpaper, a simple metal bedframe, nothing hung on the walls and complete disorder - that's a recipe for a makeover.

After a ton of hard work and his room is finally functional and beautiful.

I pulled together furniture I had built in the past plus a few new pieces along with stripping the wallpaper, adding paint to the walls and trim, new wood shades and shutters and building a shelf in the eaves to complete the space.

A complete source list with links to posts and free plans is down below at the end of this post.

"G" is for Giveaway: Iron

Today I have a special treat for one lucky reader.

Giveaway: Hamilton Beach Durathon® Iron

One lucky reader will win a Durathon® electronic iron with retractable cord and who doesn't love a great iron?

The Durathon® iron has it all - great steam, auto shut-off, electronic control settings, and a retractable cord.

I've been using it for the last month on all my sewing projects and it's a keeper:

Believe me when I say I've gone through a few irons in my lifetime, in fact I had 3 in the laundry room until this beauty arrived but now all I use is this Durathon® iron.

Perhaps the best feature is the retractable cord which allows for easy maneuvering even for left-handed folks like myself.

Here I used the Durathon® iron on my self lined roman shades for our bedroom.

Now's your chance to win a Durathon® iron:

a Rafflecopter giveaway

Disclaimer:  I was not compensated for this post but was provided product for review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

"K" is for Knock Off Decor

Sharing a favorite blog of mine today:

You all know Beckie, she's the blogger with not one, not two, but yes, three blogs.
Along with sharing creative, frugal projects at Infarrantly Creative and repurposing and upcycling projects at Roadkill Rescue she happily promotes other bloggers knock off projects at Knock Off Decor.
The focus of Knock Off Decor from Beckie:

"I hope to showcase the amazing work of some seriously talented designers while giving those with less of a budget a chance to mimic them. Because after all “imitation is the highest form of flattery.”"

Let's just say if you've seen it at retail or in any of those yummy magazines that show up in your mailbox then chances are someone has made a knock off version and Beckie probably has a post for it.
You can search by category:

Or type in your keyword and search the whole Knock Off Decor website:

As you may know I build, paint and sew a lot of knock off decor.  Every time I publish a post with a knock off I usually submit the project to Knock Off Decor, it's a win - win for both Beckie and me.
Today Beckie is featuring my pipe and wood slats bed:

It's both a Pottery Barn and Restoration Hardware knock off mashed together.

If you've created a knock off definitely consider submitting your project post to Knock Off Decor.
Thank you Beckie for all your hard work in promoting others, it's much appreciated!
