"K" is for Kitchen Makeover

Paint: a kitchen makeover

While the dining room ceiling was torn apart I figured I might as well add to the mess and tackle the kitchen too!

(In reality it meant one visit from the electricians to rewire the dining room ceiling and change out all the beige outlets in the kitchen.)

This before picture was taken on move in day June 2013.
Tons of cabinets, tons of storage, tons of reddish orange paint.

And today.  Ta-dah.
So different right?

"C" is for Ceiling Makeover

How to expose wood beams.

The ceiling makeover in the dining room is complete.
There was a drop ceiling hiding all these beautiful, mostly original, rustic wood beams:

I ripped down the drop ceiling, had two electrical lines rerouted, then turned to my contractor and had his guys install blocking, sheetrock and plaster.

The finishing touch is a colonial style wrought iron chandelier.

The view above is from the master bedroom doorway.
(To see how I stripped the back stairway door click here.)
