"F" is for Flat Pencil Pouch

Sew: diy flat zipper pencil pouch

It's back to school for us next week and every Fall my kids ask for new pencil pouches.
I'm happy to oblige and this year we went with the flat zipper pencil pouch.

The finished size is 10"w x 8"h and I love the contrasting lining on the interior.

"L" is for Lace & Scallop Cut Outs Trend

Trend: lace and scallop cut outs

Okay friends I'm really not a very trendy person but I do pay attention to details and this is one detail I just happen to love.

Lace and scallop cut outs are everywhere.  From clothing and accessories to decor I'm drawn to the intricate nature of the negative cut out space.

"B" is for Bed Makeover

Build: DIY bed makeover

Completely transform the style of an existing headboard and footboard with a few pieces of wood, new feet and paint, it's that easy.  This bed went from dated and faded to cute and farmhouse with very little effort.

My friend had this dated, solid wood headboard and footboard (and siderails too).  The style and details left much to be desired and it sat VERY close to the ground.

"F" is for Family Refreshments Station

Build: diy family refreshments station

Back in March I was a contestant on Creating With the Stars at East Coast Creative.  I made it to Round 2 (after winning Round 1!) and built this family refreshments station for the paint project category.

I realized I never shared the tutorial on how I built this piece.

"O" is for Over the Fridge Cabinet

Build: diy over the fridge cabinet

I'm over at Remodelaholic today sharing how to make this over the fridge cabinet.

Do you have an odd space above the fridge?  A huge gaping, useless hole has potential and I'll show you how easy it is to make a box with a door.

And then you can hide and store items making the most use of that space above the fridge.

"M" is for Master Bedroom Makeover

Master bedroom makeover in the 1740 saltbox.

We've lived in this house for one year now and the master bedroom makeover is complete.

This before picture is taken from the MLS listing posted online and is exactly how the room was when we saw the house for the first time.

And now.  I guess I like things simple.

"O" is for Outdoor Trestle Dining Table

Build: DIY outdoor trestle dining table

A diy outdoor table that seats 10 comfortably and we've got the plans for you!  I desperately wanted to build an outdoor table that was double wide (meaning 2 people can fit on the short ends) so I asked my buildy gal pal Ana White to design some plans, she did and I built this beauty!
