DIY Star Napkins

Who's ready for a little holiday?  July 4th is days away and I have a fairly simple table decor project: diy star napkins.

Use premade white cotton napkins or hem up cotton fabric then paint a simple red star at the center.  I'll show you how down below.

When paired with a little blue and white gingham you have a great 4th of July addition to your table.
(The giant table is also a diy project, see the details here.)

Fun, festive, fast and washable too.

How to make star napkins:

1. Use a rolled hem on an 18" square piece of white cotton (or use premade white napkins).
2. Print out a 3" star shape and pin to back side of napkin at center.
3. Using a lightbox paint inside the star shape with red acrylic craft paint.

And if you have a vinyl cutting machine you could easily make a stencil, stick onto the napkin and paint inside.

The acrylic paint dries in minutes and won't come off in the wash.

Could you tell me where you got the metal plates? They're great!

I think they are qtr size baking sheets and now I want some. Great idea to use them as trays/plates.
