Simple Mirror Frame

If you follow me on Instagram then you know I've been slaving away in the bathroom recently working on a little makeover.  Today I'm sharing how to make this super simple mirror frame out of wood that will go in the bathroom.

Yesterday I shared a sneak peek of the newly framed mirror hung in place:

Open Media Shelf

Truth be told I previously shared this open media shelf way back when.  This was before I figured out how to make proper plans so today I'm reposting this build with step by step instructions including detailed plans and cut lists.

One Board Challenge: Bench

It's a great day to share a ton of one board challenge projects!  My buildy friend Jen at House of Wood organized this Build It Blog Hop challenge whereby DIY bloggers take one board and build anything.  No rules except it can only be a 1x8x8 board.

Please be sure to stop by all these awesome DIY bloggers to see exactly how creative everyone can be with one board:
Below is my one board challenge project including the plans to build your own!

House Shape Door Decor

On a quest for door decor that's different from the typical wreath?  I'm always on the lookout for unusual or unexpected door decor so today I'm sharing this house shape door decor.  All the details including step by step instructions, materials and cut lists are over at Brittany's blog Pretty Handy Girl.

And yes it does look a bit like an arrow so if you're looking to build an arrow shape you could use the same plans!  For my purposes it's a house shape and I added the red hearts just to keep it fun.

Locker Cubbies & Giveaway

Who's thinking about back to school?  Yes please I can't wait!  As much fun as summer is don't get me wrong I secretly long for those structured school days.

The folks at Crates and Pallet challenged a few bloggers to come up with a back to school themed organization project using the large and small crates.  Today I'm sharing my locker cubbies made from 6 large crates and 6 small crates.  Together they make a super functional and organized spot for school supplies and homework essentials.

And the nice people at Crates and Pallet have offered to giveaway 2 large and 2 small crates plus a $50 gift card for The Home Depot to one lucky reader!

A great way to get started on your own back to school organizational area.  The giveaway entry and link are down below but first all the details on my locker cubbies:

DIY Bookshelf

Happy Friday friends.  I'm over at Remodelaholic today sharing this DIY bookshelf with adjustable shelves.

I'd consider this a furniture staple in most homes and it's definitely a project you can do yourself and customize to fit your space.  Click on the link here for the free plans to make your own bookshelf.

Mail Sorter

Nothing fancy today folks, just a simple mail sorter I built for my neighbor.  I thought I'd share the plans because it's a build with purpose that might be useful to some readers.

My neighbor has three kids so she wanted a mail slot for each one.  The boxes are 12" wide x 7" deep so plenty of space for papers and notes, especially once school starts up again!

Camp Care Package

It's summer and that means summer camp.  I truly love everything about summer camp and have tons of fond memories as a kid away at summer camp.  But perhaps one of the best parts about summer camp is receiving care packages!

This summer my girls and their cousin will be going to sleepaway summer camp for two weeks and they are over the moon excited.  Naturally I had to prepare a camp care package and I'm sharing my list of ideas with you.  I will ship the package ahead of their departure because I know after a few days of settling in at camp they will be eagerly awaiting a care package.

First up, the small things.  Think of small sized items that would be useful at camp like a travel tissue pack, hair binders and a flashlight and pack it all in a small container.  Of course they will have packed a flashlight and hair binders already but it can't hurt to have a back up (ever leave your flashlight on all night?) and girls are notorious for loosing hair binders.  I had to throw in some candy but individually wrapped pieces means hopefully they are more likely to share with bunk mates.

DIY Star Napkins

Who's ready for a little holiday?  July 4th is days away and I have a fairly simple table decor project: diy star napkins.

Use premade white cotton napkins or hem up cotton fabric then paint a simple red star at the center.  I'll show you how down below.
