diy split rail fence

Never in a million years would I have thought I'd be installing a fence, by myself, with posts and rails.  It seemed like a rather big job but I'm here to tell you it's actually fairly simple and I did it all myself.

Simpson Strong-Tie fence brackets

The key to easy installation that's strong and secure are these Simpson Strong-Tie fence brackets.  To see the details on how to install a fence using these brackets check out the full tutorial here.  Needless to say these brackets not only make installing rails faster but allow for precision and ease, no toe-nailing or trying to screw through the post.

Just look how pretty that little corner of our yard is now with a beautiful fence!  For more information on this project visit the DIY Done Right site here.

  1. I have this fence around the back yard as a semi divider - and western look to go with the rustic yard. It maybe called a split rail but I call it my ponderosa fence. I love it ! 😀😀
